Swiss Reflex Treatments

Swiss Reflex combines aromatherapy essential oils with the healing potential of reflexology. This type of reflexology was devised by Shirley Price.

Reflexology stimulates reflexes on the feet to encourage the body to return to a state of homeostasis. (Balance). Your feet are like a map of your body, every part of your body is represented on specific points on your feet.  Imbalances in the different systems of your body show in the skin texture on your feet. A Reflexology treatment is highly effective, as it stimulates reflex points and encourages the body to heal itself. In Swiss Reflex we use specific essential oils in a cream and combine the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy essential oils with the benefits of reflexology.

Reflexology cannot be used to diagnose any issues, however it can be used to track down imbalances in your body. At Essentia Wellbeing the therapist selects essential oils for your treatment by using reflexology as an analysis and then prepares your unique cream blend, which is used for your reflexology treatment. The essential oils are absorbed through your skin (working just like a nicotine patch). The absorbed aromatic oils can help restore balance to your body and mind.

The remainder of the cream is yours to take home. You are encouraged continue the treatment at home by applying your specific cream blend to your feet every night

Swiss Reflex Technique may be used as an effective stress management therapy.  It can encourage your body to relax deeply and function at optimum levels.  This treatment leave you feeling refreshed and energised.

What happens during a Swiss Reflex Treatment?

Your initial session at Essential Wellbeing includes a detailed consultation about your health and lifestyle.  For the treatment you can relax on the treatment couch, or if that is not possible, treatment can take place on a chair.  To start with your therapist uses reflexology as an analysis to determine which systems of your body are out of balance.  Your therapist can then determine the best possible blend of Aromatherapy essential oils for you and blend these into a base cream.  The cream blend is applied to your feet during the Swiss Reflex treatment, encouraging your body to heal itself in two ways.  Firstly, through the stimulation of the reflexes and secondly, through the absorption and action of the essential oils onto your body.  Clients often comment on how relaxing and stress-relieving the treatment is, some even fall asleep.  Swiss Reflex treatments combine the two techniques to maximum benefit.

You are encouraged continue the treatment at home by applying the cream blend to your feet every night.

It is recommend that you have 2 or 3 sessions to gain optimum benefits.  Generally speaking, long standing health issues need more sessions than acute issues.  However, you are welcome to attend for a single session, if you wish, it is your choice!

How can I benefit from Reflexology?

Swiss Reflex  treatments can be particularly beneficial to help to “re-set the stress button”, increasing your stress resilience.  In this case it is helpful to book in for treatments at regular intervals to maintain resilience.

Stress-related disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrom, Respiratory disorders, Sinus problems, Muscular skeletal tension and Hormonal imbalances all respond well to Swiss Reflex Treatments.
